Father Involvement and Marriage Readiness in Female Emerging Adults Attending University in Jabodetabek

This study aims to examine the relationship between father involvement and marital readiness among emerging adult female students in Jabodetabek. Using a quantitative correlational design with 208 participants selected through purposive sampling, father involvement was measured through engagement, accessibility, and responsibility, while marital readiness was assessed as a multidimensional construct of emotional and relational maturity. The data were analyzed using Spearman’s correlation and non-parametric difference tests. The results show a significant positive relationship between father involvement and marital readiness (r = 0.664, p < 0.001), along with significant marital readiness differences based on age (p = 0.019), educational background (p = 0.008) and domicile (p = 0.020). These findings indicate that higher father involvement is positively associated with higher marital readiness among emerging adult female students. Because the design is cross-sectional, the direction of the relationship cannot be determined.
