Peer Review Process
Our editors will assess the manuscript to determine suitability for publication in this journal as outlined in the following seven stages of the review process. The process from submission to publication will take approximately 3 months. Our editors will inform the authors by email should any circumstances influence the timeline, such as the reviewers requesting a time extension to evaluate the manuscript. OR the authors may find the status of the review progress through the OJS.
Chart
Stage 1. Initial Checks
Our editorial team will conduct an initial quality check to ensure the submission follows the journal requirements. We will place a strong emphasis on the declarations section. We may ask the authors to revise the manuscript at this stage.
Stage 2. Editorial Review
After the submissions pass the initial check, we will assign the manuscript to an Academic Editor with relevant expertise. The editor will assess the manuscript against our publication criteria and determine two expert reviewers to assess the scientific quality of the manuscript.
Stage 3. Peer Review
This journal follows a two-blinded peer review process involving two reviewers with expertise in the topic. Editors might invite external reviewers when internal reviewers are unavailable to complete the review process within the timeline. During the submission process, authors may indicate specific editors or reviewers who should not review your manuscript. We will respect your request and ensure you that this information will not influence the review outcomes.
Stage 4. Editorial Decision
The handling editor will make the final decision by considering the reviewers’ feedback and their evaluation of the manuscript. The decision type is either Reject, Major Revision, Minor Revision, or Accept. The handling editor will communicate the decision to the corresponding author in a formal letter, along with reviewer feedback and any other requirements from the editorial office if the manuscript moves to the next stage.
Stage 5. Revisions
For manuscripts that require Major Revision and Minor Revision, the authors will have 14 days to resubmit the revised manuscript. The authors may decline the invitation to revise the manuscript by selecting “decline” in the link provided in the decision letter. The handling editor may make the final decision based on their assessment of the authors’ responses to the reviewers’ comments and the quality of the revised manuscript without involving the original peer reviewers. The handling editor may also request the original peer reviewers or invite new peer reviewers to evaluate the quality of the revised manuscript.
Stage 6. Accepted Manuscripts
The accepted manuscript may require final checks for formatting and technical requirements. The authors should meet the final requirements before the handling editor sends a formal acceptance letter and the manuscript moves on to production.
Stage 7. Appeals
Authors may submit a formal and written appeal for rejected manuscripts. Authors must provide detailed reasons for the appeal, explaining why the editor should reconsider the decision to reject the manuscript, and why the manuscript meets the requirement for publication in our journal. Authors should also include point-by-point responses to the provided comments and feedback from the reviewers and the editor. The duration of the appeal process may take longer than the review process for new submissions. We will only consider one appeal per submission and decisions on appeals are final.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
