Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.

 

Author Guidelines

  1. JOHME welcomes scientific articles of research in mathematics education. All submitted papers shall never be published elsewhere and not considered for other publications. The manuscripts are typed with the Microsoft Word program, Calibri, 12-point, using 210 mm x 297 mm (A4) paper with 2.5 cm on the top, bottom, left, right borders, and 1.15 spaces.
  2. The manuscripts were submitted online via OJS of JOHME through https://ojs.uph.edu/index.php/JOHME/index
  3. The manuscript is written in Indonesian or English.
  4. The author takes full responsibility on the originality of the article. Do not do duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism.The article submitted will be checked for originality by using Turnitin, with 25% similarity percentage limit. The article will be rejected without going to the editorial review if it exceeds the limit. If the article is found having plagiarized materials after publication, the article will be immediately retracted and the author will be banned for future submission. An article retraction notice would be issued in the article page. Please attach the Turnitin result as supplementary file (if possible).
  5. The manuscript should follow the JOHME Author Template (Word .docx) and follow its instructions as determined by the JOHME Editorial Board.
  6. The systematic of the manuscript are title, Authors' name, Authors' affiliation and email, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Literature Review, Problem Solving Approach or Research Methodology, Discussion or Analysis, Conclusion, and References. 
  7. The title should contain essential variables in the research. It is unnecessary to include the research location unless what is discussed is genuinely unique in that location.
  8. The author's name and affiliation must be written correctly and consistently in OJS and a manuscript. The author's affiliation should be complete: name of department, university, province/state, and country.
  9. Abstract, Abstract should contain a brief introduction of the issue, purpose of the study or research, method or approach how to solve the issue, and results of the study or research. Authors who submit English manuscripts need not supply an Indonesian abstract below. The abstract must be written in Calibri, 1 space, and 11 pts.
  10. Keywords must be words or phrases for search engine purposes.
  11. Introduction must be clear and written descriptively. Write an introduction depicting one or more issues that will be mainly discussed in this scientific article. The introduction must contain at least five things, to be specific: (1) issues related to the investigate, both worldwide and national issues. Attempt to have sources related to the issue, and it isn't permitted to display issues that don't have a clear source; (2) how is the reaction of analysts related to the issue. Attempt to have master supposition related to the issue to fortify the researcher's contention; (3) how past investigate is related to the issues displayed. At that point, where is the hole between the inquire about conducted and past considers?   15. Conclusion, the authors must describe the answer to the problem or research question posed. The authors should not explain sentences repeatedly from the previous section. However, the authors must abstract the article's contents related to the answers to the formulation of the problem or research question. In addition, the authors should describe the implication and the limitation of this study. This section is written descriptively, not numbering and bulleted.
  16. References. We recommended preparing the references with a bibliography software package to avoid typing mistakes and duplicated references, such as Mendeley, EndNote, ReferenceManager, or Zotero. Include the digital object identifier (DOI) for all references where available. Order the reference list entries alphabetically by author. All references must be in the body of the article and vice versa. The source referred to in the body of the article must be in the reference section. The references used are at least 20 references consisting of a minimum of 80% from journal articles and the rest from other references. References must be up-to-date, at least the last five years, except for the fundamental theories required in writing articles. Authors must also input all references used in the Open Journal System (OJS) JOHME when submitting articles. Reference writing and citation follows the rules of APA Style, 7 version.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document and uses the JOHME Author Template (Word .docx). Manuscripts not using the template will be rejected.
  3. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining; and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  4. ALL REFERENCES ARE PROPERLY FORMATTED ACCORDING TO APA GUIDELINES (6th edition). DOIs (Digital Object Identifiers) or URLs ARE INCLUDED when available. **For assistance finding DOIs of cited references, go to http://search.crossref.org. After locating the correct DOI and reference, choose Action > Cite > APA to ensure you have cited it properly.  You can also use the tool at https://doi.crossref.org/simpleTextQuery to paste in an entire bibliography.

    During Step 3 of the submission process, the list of APA-formated references will need to be pasted into a separate text box.

  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the JOHME Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. The submission will go to a double blind peer-reviewed section of the journal, following the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review
