Community Service Program Implementation of the Green Hotel Recyclables Aspect in Kelapa Dua Village, Tangerang
Abstract
The tourism industry can play a significant role in addressing global warming by adopting environmentally responsible practices. One approach is the implementation of “Green” initiatives among hotel operators, focusing on water conservation, energy efficiency, eco-friendly materials, and reducing solid waste. This Community Service Program (Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat/PkM) aimed to provide knowledge and understanding of the Green Hotel concept, particularly the “Recyclables” aspect, to the community of Kelapa Dua Village. The program targeted village management and residents to promote the implementation of recycling practices in tourism facilities at Situ Kelapa Dua. Activities included educational sessions, presentations, and practical demonstrations on transforming household waste into new, useful products. The post-program results showed improved community awareness and understanding of recycling principles. The initiative also enhanced creativity in waste management and encouraged environmentally responsible behavior. Overall, this program contributes to sustainable tourism development, supports environmental conservation, and promotes resource efficiency at the community level.
