This article traces the development of El Shaddai throughout the Old Testament canon—particularly in Genesis and Job—and connects it with its fulfilment in the New Testament. It seeks to demonstrate that El Shaddai is not merely a title concerning God's power to bless, but also a name unveiling the mystery of God's sovereignty amidst human suffering, reaching its climax in Christ. Employing a literature review method with a biblical theology and intertextual approach, this study analyses primary biblical texts (Genesis, Job, Psalm 91, and the Pantokrator texts in Revelation) alongside relevant secondary sources. The findings reveal a canonical development: in Genesis, El Shaddai denotes the God of covenant who enables the impossible; in Job, it becomes the God whose sovereign power remains present even when blessing is withdrawn; and in the New Testament, this concept is fulfilled in Christ, who reveals God's power through the cross and resurrection. The study concludes that a holistic canonical reading is essential for understanding El Shaddai, and that knowing this divine name means learning to trust God in all circumstances.
