ANALISIS PENTINGNYA PEMBELAJARAN DI LABORATORIUM BAGI MOTIVASI BELAJAR SISWA; ANALYSIS OF THE IMPORTANCE OF LEARNING IN LABORATORY FOR STUDENT LEARNING MOTIVATION

Abstract


Laboratory is an important part for natural science teaching and learning since it is a support for theory by presenting a concrete experience. However, one of schools in Tangerang rarely conduct learnings in a laboratory seeming because it is considered ineffective and not efficient since it takes too much time and covers only a few learning materials. That kind of view appeared because laboratory only counted as a way to deliver lessons. There are some benefits from conducting learning in laboratory besides delivering a lesson, which is for students’ motivation to learn. In the context of Christian education, motivation to learn should be improved because sin distorts the orientation of human being to do right. This study analizes important aspects given by a laboratory for the students’ learning motivation. This research is held with qualitative descriptive method. This research gives conclusion that learning in laboratories affect the motivation by offering variative tools, concrete understanding of abstract theory, and bringing students’ experiences in scientific context. This research gives suggestion for teachers to design a laboratory learning to start a new lesson so it gives illustration of set goals. Improvement which can be held for a same research is doing a quantitative measurement for learning motivation so it shows the significance of learning in laboratory for learning motivation.
