The increase in the number of elderly and people’s life expectancy as a result of the health technology development influences the amount of degenerative disease. Dementia is a long term degenerative condition which is common in elderly that leads to irreversible brain impairment. Assistive technology has been proven scientifically have a big impact for improvement of quality of life people with dementia. The writer use simplified approach methods to reviews 11 journal articles about the application of assistive technology for elderly from 2012 -2017 periods to identify the effectiveness of assistive technology for people with dementia. The result of the review found that there was a significant escalation of client’s satisfaction and their independence when they did their daily activities with the help of assistive technology. There is a need of continuous research about effectiveness of the assistive tools that be used to assist elderly in Indonesia specifically.
