Video recording of music therapy sessions holds an important role in helping music therapists evaluate their sessions. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the effectivity of engaged filming in recording music therapy sessions, especially during the evaluation process. This research compares two video recorded sessions using engaged filming on the fourth sessions, and unmanned camera on the fifth sessions. Three UPH Music Therapy students participate in this research, in which all participants work with senior clients. Questionnaires are distributed to participants in order to analyze their perspectives on the effectiveness of both recording techniques. By comparing both videos, this research analyzes the strengths and weaknesses of each recording technique. This research uncovers that engaged filming is able to capture details of the clients' facial expressions and body movements compared to unmanned camera. However, this research also discovers the inflexibility use of engaged filming, especially in recording psychoanalysis-based sessions.
