Penerapan Model ARCS untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Kognitif Pada Mata Pelajaran Musik Siswa Kelas VIII SMP XYZ Tangerang [Application of the ARCS Model to Improve Cognitive Learning Outcomes in Music Subjects Class VIII SMP XYZ Tangerang]

Music education in XYZ Junior High School emphasizes the psychomotor domain. As the result, the cognitive domain of student get lesser attention and falls behind. The cognitive learning outcomes of students have not reached their maximum potential, proven by the percentage of passing students that do not meet the standard of 85% of the class. This research aims to improve the cognitive learning outcomes of students by the use of the ARCS model to meet the minimum standard of passing students of the class. Classroom action research is used to solve the issue. The result shows that the use of ARCS in music learning improves the cognitive learning outcomes of grade VIII students in XYZ Junior High School Tangerang. The mean of students’ scores increases from 73,75 to 92,19 and the percentage of the passing student also increases from 66,7% to 96,7% and meets the minimum standard of passing students of the class.
Pendidikan musik di SMP XYZ lebih menekankan pada ranah psikomotorik. Akibatnya, ranah kognitif siswa kurang mendapat perhatian dan tertinggal. Hasil belajar kognitif siswa belum mencapai potensi maksimalnya, dibuktikan dengan persentase ketuntasan siswa yang tidak memenuhi standar 85% kelas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa dengan menggunakan model ARCS untuk memenuhi standar ketuntasan minimal siswa kelas tersebut. Penelitian tindakan kelas digunakan untuk memecahkan masalah tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan ARCS dalam pembelajaran musik meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas VIII SMP XYZ Tangerang. Rata-rata nilai siswa meningkat dari 73,75 menjadi 92,19 dan persentase ketuntasan siswa juga meningkat dari 66,7% menjadi 96,7% dan memenuhi standar ketuntasan minimal siswa.
