Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.

 

Author Guidelines

The editorial board of Worldviews in International Relations has provided the guidelines for authors and the writing template. All submissions should adhere the instruction and template closely.

 

1. Originality

Article must be original and free of plagiarism. The author must submit the signed form of the journal originality statement.

 

2. Language, length, pagination, and font 

Article should be written in Standard English grammar and typed on the A4 paper size with top, bottom, left, and right sides of margin set to 1 inch. The length of the manuscript should be (a) between 4,000 and 7,500 words excluding the references for the research-based article and review, methodological analysis or theoretical analysis and (b) between 500 and 1,000 words for the book review.

 

If the article far exceeds the prescribed length, it is recommended to break the article into separate manuscripts. Write page number in sequence using Arabic numbering format (1, 2, 3, so on …) on the middle of the bottom for each page of the manuscript.

 

Article should be typed single space, using Times New Roman font with the following details:

3. Title

The title of the article reflects the content and should not exceed 15 words.

 

4. Abstract

The abstract should briefly explain the aim of the research including the problem or issue in question, the research method, the results or discussion and analysis, and the conclusion of the paper. The abstract does not include any footnotes or references and should be less than 250 words. Up to 5 keywords should be provided below the abstract.

 

5. Figures and tables

Figures and tables placed in the body of the text. Figures and tables are given numbers using Arabic numbering format (e.g. Figure 1, Table 1, and so on). The title of figures is placed at the bottom of the image, while the title of the table is placed on the top of the table.

 

6. Citation

Citations are written using the format of APA Style (6th edition, American Psychological Association). Footnotes are not allowed to be used in the writing of the paper. Here is an example of citations written using APA style:

a. One author: (Allison, 2005)

b. Two authors: (Allison & Zelikow, 1971)

c. More than two authors: (Ghazali et al., 2008)

d. Two different citations by different authors: (Ghazali et al., 2008; Danielsson 2009)

e. Two different citations by the same authors: (Lawson, 2003, 2007) If the same publication: (Fam, 2008a, 2008b)

f. Institutions: (BI, 2011)

g. Interviews, e-mail correspondence, conversations: (Aldiano, personal communication, October 12, 2010)

 

7. Reference

Reference list must be arranged alphabetically and sequentially using an APA Style (6th edition, American Psychological Association), which can be seen in detail at https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/05/. Include digital object identifiers (DOIs) if they have been assigned to the content.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Authors who publish with this journal agree to the following terms:

1) Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC-BY-SA 4.0) that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.

2) Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgement of its initial publication in this journal.
