ANALISIS DAMPAK KECANDUAN MENONTON WEBSERIES TERHADAP AKTIVITAS BELAJAR [ANALYZING THE IMPACT OF ADDICTION WATCHING WEBSERIES ON LEARNING ACTIVITIES]

Abstract


The increasingly massive development of information communication technology makes it easier for people to access information and knowledge quickly. In addition, the development of information communication technology also presents a variety of digital-based entertainment that can be accessed anytime and anywhere by using gadgets. Various digital-based entertainment channels using these gadgets such as watching web series have turned out to be interesting and captivating for the digital generation, especially students, even to the point of addiction. This study aims to determine the activity of watching web series on MA Mu'allimat NWDI Pancor students and to determine the impact of addiction to watching web series on their learning activities. This research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The research subjects were students, parents, guardians, friends and teachers. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, in-depth interviews and supported by documentation as secondary data. While the data analysis technique used is qualitative data analysis of the Miles and Huberman model, namely through data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. Based on the results of this study, it can be reported that MA Mu'allimat NWDI Pancor students are addicted to watching web series with a duration of watching 5-8 hours every day. They watch at home or in their boarding houses after school. Meanwhile, addiction to watching web series has both academic and social impacts. Academically, addiction to web series has an impact on learning activities that are often neglected resulting in lower academic performance. While socially, MA Mu'allimat NWDI Pancor students who are addicted to watching web series prefer to be isolated.


ABSTRAK BAHASA INDONESIA: Perkembangan teknologi komunikasi informasi yang semakin masif mempermudah masyarakat dalam mengakses informasi dan ilmu pengetahuan dengan cepat. Selain itu perkembangan teknologi-komunikasi informasi juga menghadirkan berbagai hiburan berbasis digital yang dapat diakses kapanpun dan dimanapun dengan menggunakan perangkat gadget. Berbagai saluran hiburan berbasis digital dengan menggunakan gadget tersebut seperti menonton web series ternyata menarik dan memikat hati para generasi digital terutama kalangan pelajar bahkan sampai kecanduan.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas menonton web series pada siswi MA Mu’allimat NWDI Pancor dan untuk mengetahui dampak kecanduan menonton web series terhadap aktivitas belajar mereka. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian yaitu siswa, orang tua siswa, wali kos, teman siswa dan guru. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam dan didukung dokumentasi sebagai data sekunder. Sedangkan teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis data kualitatif model Miles dan Huberman yaitu melalui pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat dilaporkan bahwa siswi-siswi MA Mu’allimat NWDI Pancor sudah kecanduan menonton web series dengan durasi menonton 5-8 jam setiap hari. Mereka menonton di rumah maupun di kos-kosan setelah pulang sekolah. Sedangkan kecanduan menonton web series berdampak secara akademik maupun sosial. Secara akademik kecanduan web series berdampak pada aktivitas belajarnya yang sering dilalaikan sehingga prestasi belajarnya menurun. Sedangkan secara sosial, para siswi MA Mu’allimat NWDI Pancor yang kecanduan menonton web series lebih suka menyendiri.
