Indonesia’s Foreign Policy under Prabowo: A Shift Toward Strategic Assertiveness

Kebijakan luar negeri Indonesia secara tradisional mengikuti doktrin Bebas dan Aktif, yang menekankan netralitas sekaligus keterlibatan aktif dalam urusan global. Namun, terpilihnya Prabowo Subianto sebagai presiden pada tahun 2024 menandai pergeseran signifikan menuju pendekatan yang lebih tegas dan strategis. Sambil mempertahankan fokus Joko Widodo pada diplomasi ekonomi, Prabowo telah memperluas prioritas Indonesia untuk mencakup keamanan nasional, pertahanan, dan kemitraan global. Pemerintahannya secara aktif mendorong inisiatif utama seperti bergabung dengan BRICS, memperkuat keamanan maritim di kawasan Indo-Pasifik, dan memperluas kerja sama militer dengan kekuatan global utama. Studi ini menggunakan analisis tematik kualitatif terhadap literatur yang ada untuk mengkaji perubahan kebijakan tersebut serta dampaknya terhadap posisi Indonesia di panggung dunia. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa meskipun diplomasi ekonomi tetap menjadi pilar utama, pendekatan Prabowo mencerminkan visi yang lebih luas yang mengintegrasikan kepentingan ekonomi dengan keamanan nasional dan aliansi strategis. Kepemimpinannya menekankan kedaulatan Indonesia, modernisasi pertahanan, serta kehadiran yang lebih kuat di tingkat regional dan global. Dengan menyeimbangkan kemitraan ekonomi dan keterlibatan militer yang lebih besar, Prabowo bertujuan untuk menempatkan Indonesia sebagai kekuatan menengah yang berpengaruh dalam membentuk dinamika regional dan internasional. Secara keseluruhan, studi ini menyoroti bagaimana kebijakan luar negeri Indonesia di bawah kepemimpinan Prabowo mengalami transisi dari pragmatisme ekonomi ke strategi yang lebih komprehensif dalam memperkuat kepentingan nasional dan membangun kolaborasi strategis di tingkat global.
