Focus and Scope

The journal aims to publish design research undertaken through the design works where the research is embodied within the works. The journal seeks significant contemporary design issues, problematics, emerging design strategies and practices, scholarly design critiques and extended discourse by authors relating to visual, product, architectural and interior design field. The interplay of investigating, situating, framing and communicating design-research activities makes the design works and design discourses to contribute to the knowledge within the realm of design.

Peer Review Process

Prospective authors are invited to submit original papers not being considered for publication elsewhere.

Submissions will be judged on Appropriateness of the Topic, Conceptual Adequacy/ Mastery of Relevant Literature, Technical Adequacy (if applicable), Clarity of Presentation and Significance of Contribution to the Field Of Design.

All articles submitted to Gradients journal will be checked for plagiarism.

Submissions will go through independent and professional reviewers.

Authors will be notified via email on the outcome of the review process.

Authors can appeal for re-submission (after updating their manuscript as suggested by the reviewers) for further consideration.

Gradients Journal is an annual journal.

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
