Since the late 20th century, recognition of diversity in society has expanded to include ethnicity, religion, gender and sexual orientation. Homosexuality, as a sexual orientation towards the same sex, has been a frequently discussed topic in religious and legal contexts in Indonesia. This article examines the biblical and church views on homosexuality and same-sex marriage, with an emphasis on the rejection of homosexual acts based on Christian teachings and Indonesian law. The Bible explicitly states that homosexuality is a sin and a violation of God's will. Although the church rejects homosexual acts, it still respects the humanity of the individuals involved and opposes any form of discrimination against them. Therefore, it is clear that homosexuality goes against human nature and the cultural mandate to procreate, and is not in accordance with what God has commanded.
